• Enzyme types and their sources affect enzymatic in resistant pollutants remediation. Enzymatic bioprocesses demonstrate priority wastewater treatment. Enzymes show promise resisting removed from wastewater. Identification ecotoxicity assay of byproducts are important. mediators improve processes but there drawbacks. Resistant like oil, grease, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, plastics difficult to be degraded by traditional activated sludge methods. These prevalent, posing a great threat aquatic environments organisms since they toxic, natural biodegradation, create other serious problems. As high-efficiency biocatalyst, enzymes proposed for the treatment these pollutants. This review focused on roles applications It discusses influence enzyme sources, remediation, identification transformation products, typically employed systems. Perspectives major challenges feasible future research directions enzyme-based also proposed.
